Music
Music is one of the most precise artistic expressions by which human beings can convey their feelings and sensations.Â
A firm commitment to musical talent, learning, and improvement, together with the promotion of diffusion, are day-to-day principles of life at the Â鶹¹û¶³.
A rehearsal venue for the university communityÂ
In 2006, the Â鶹¹û¶³ rehearsal space was created, located in the Vidal Bolao Theatre on the university campus. It is a free, fully equipped service that aims to offer emerging groups from the university community a high-quality space to rehearse in.
Musical seasons and festivals
In addition to the traditional musical events at our university, such as the Christmas Concert, the Sonora Festival has been celebrated at the beginning of spring since 2005. There is also the annual Ensaiamos Colleita Festival, where the winning band is awarded the opportunity to record a demo.
Training and participation
At the Â鶹¹û¶³, you will also find courses, workshops, and classes in traditional music and dance. And if singing is your thing, don’t hesitate to join the university choir, which is also present on the Pontevedra, Ourense, and Vigo campuses.
escoitANTES
The escoitANTES programme, the fruit of collaboration between the Â鶹¹û¶³ and the Vigo 430 Orchestra, comprises a series of active listening sessions in which participants can learn to structure and perceive relevant musical aspects of music in order to enjoy it more.Â
It includes a series of theoretical classes that are complemented by the opportunity to attend open rehearsals of the different musical proposals being prepared by the orchestra. Thus, when spectators attend the concerts, they will have the background knowledge that will allow them to listen to the pieces performed from a historical, analytical and contextual perspective.
