Arboretum on the Pontevedra Campus

The Arboretum is a collection of more than 350 trees on the A Xunqueira campus, belonging to 54 species and 28 families. Since 2019, it has had its own route, a two-kilometre trail that allows visitors to admire alders, ash trees, birches, magnolias, chestnut trees, and holly trees, while finding out about the different specimens, which are geolocated in a database.

Wood collection of the School of Forestry Engineering

The School of Forestry Engineering's wood collection began in 2014. Thanks to donations from companies, institutions, and individuals, it now has more than 400 wooden boards, belonging over a hundred tree species.

The collection also includes a series of samples of wood derivatives and energy products derived from this natural resource, as well as a series of special pieces, such as a piece of pine from the Mata Nacional de Leira, which was almost completely burned in the severe forest fires that affected this Portuguese district in October 2017, and a series of 40 woods from the Peruvian department of Ucayali, collected by three students from the school.
