Connect in the campuses

At the Â鶹¹û¶³ we have implemented a wireless network that extends to all centres on all campuses. The network was designed to work with the most widely used operating systems.

The network is prepared for the 802.11b (11 Mbps), 802.11g (54 Mbps), 802.11N and 802.11ac standards, so all types of cards will work.

To connect to Alumnos e Persoal you only have to connect to the network and open a browser. We will connect by entering our Â鶹¹û¶³ email details.

Please note that the Â鶹¹û¶³ Students and Staff wireless networks are not encrypted, that is, the connections are clear over the air, so that an advanced user could be able to see the communications. We warn about this so that users use the network carefully and confidently.

Recommended network: Eduroam

If we want to use a secure connection available in many centres around the world, we have a secure network called Eduroam, which can be used by both internal users of the Â鶹¹û¶³ who wish to connect securely, as well as users from other institutions affiliated to the Eduroam project.

The aim of the Eduroam Project is to have connectivity and mobility between the different networks without world-wide research fios. In this way, a user from another university involved in this project can connect from our university with his or her ID and password, and an internal user from the Â鶹¹û¶³ can connect from any of the networks included in Eduroam.

You can find more information aboutÌý. The coverage of the Eduroam wifi network at Â鶹¹û¶³ is the same as the internal wifi networks and extends to all the centres of the three campuses. This network can also be used by Â鶹¹û¶³ users who want to connect securely to the university network.

To connect to Eduroam

The easiest way to connect from the Â鶹¹û¶³ is to use the EDUROAM-CAT platform to install the logical support. To do this we have to:

  1. Access the websiteÌý
    To connect to the eduroam network on newer mobile devices with Android 8 or higher, we recommend downloading the GETeduroam app from the Play Store or App Store.
  2. Once downloaded, select the Â鶹¹û¶³ as the institution and download the logical support for your operating system.
  3. Then, install the application and enter your username and password to start enjoying the eduroam network.
