The Concepcin Siz Otero nursery school, located on the Ourense campus, has a basic aim to promote a healthy work-life balance.Ìý
If the service cannot fill all places after meeting the demand from the university community, priority is given first to other relatives of members of the university community: grandchildren and nephews/nieces of active or retired staff at the Â鶹¹û¶³, and secondly to children of people who live or work in the city of Ourense.Ìý

The service consists of childcare for children aged 0 to 3 years during the established timetable, as well as appropriate educational care for children of that age, in accordance with the applicable regulations. The nursery's complementary services are reception, after-school care and a dining room, which are exclusively for nursery users. These services are mandatory for the successful service provider and optional for families.

The nursery has the modern facilities needed to ensure the safety and proper education of the youngest children.

The A Xunqueira Nursery School marked the launch of the first such service at the Â鶹¹û¶³ and responded to a growing need, not only within the university community, but also in society as a whole. It also represented a first step in the provision of services for staff and students, enabling their children to be on campus.
