Sexual and gender-based harassment prevention protocol

Steps to follow should you be aware of any situation of sexual or gender-based harassment:

• Get in touch with the equality liaison of your centre or directly with the Equality Unit.
• Report the facts to the Commission against Sexual Harassment (CAS).
• The complaint can be presented by the person being harassed or by a third party who is aware of the situation. In the latter case, in order to initiate the procedure, the victim will have to ratify it.
• File a complaint within three years after the harassment took place.
• Who can file a complaint? Students, teaching and research staff (PDI), administrative and service staff (PTXAS), and other outsourced staff and people with administrative or private contracts.

The lilac points are spaces at university festivals and other events where the public is made aware, information is given to those who need it, and people who report a male aggression are accompanied.Ìý

'Voces de cambio'Traing Programme

An initiative linked to the University of Vigo’s Protocol for the Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment, implemented in the 2025/2026 academic year with the voluntary participation of eleven faculties and funded by the State Pact against Gender-Based Violence.

This is a face-to-face, dynamic training programme that provides practical resources to raise awareness and equip students with the skills to identify and understand gender-based violence in the university context, with particular emphasis on sexual harassment and harassment on the grounds of sex. It also fosters the development of tools to recognise, prevent, and respond to such situations in their daily lives.
