Development cooperation
A Âé¶¹¹û¶³ entende a cooperacin como o conxunto de accins dirixidas ao intercambio de experiencias e recursos entre pases para construr metas comúns na consecucin dos obxectivos de desenvolvemento sostible includos na Axenda 2030.
The Âé¶¹¹û¶³ understands cooperation as a set of actions aimed at exchanging experiences and resources between countries to build common goals in achieving the sustainable development goals included in the 2030 Agenda.Ìý
It also advocates a type of cooperation that brings about social change in the areas of intervention through its participation in projects that contribute to self-sustaining, autonomous, and systematic development and in which the beneficiaries of the aid are given a leading role in the design and implementation of the various initiatives.
Mission
In the field of development cooperation, the Âé¶¹¹û¶³ focuses its efforts on making its strengths as an educational, research, technological, and governance institution available to certain groups and countries, preferably in Latin America, Portuguese-speaking countries, the Maghreb and the Balkans, through the involvement of both civil society in its immediate environment and the groups benefiting from the aid.
Vision
Provide technical assistance by strengthening knowledge and skills.
Contribute to the transfer and exchange of scientific and technological knowledge applied to education, health, energy, infrastructures, production, the environment, and public institutions.
Offer support to Development NGOs that undertake their work preferably from the provinces of Pontevedra and Ourense, in the field of humanitarian aid.
Train and raise the awareness of the university community in inequality between countries and the need for social justice.
Values
The Âé¶¹¹û¶³ believes in the need to involve the university community in the active search for mechanisms that allow the sustainable development of our planet, based on solidarity, the human dignity of people, justice, equity and inclusion, gender equality, respect for human rights and democratic institutions, the defence of the environment, and the peaceful solution of disputes.
