Sustainable construction

Through collaboration between the Department of Works and Infrastructure, the Technical Unit, and the Environment Office, the Â鶹¹û¶³ is working to achieve sustainable and renewable buildings through the following actions:

  • Studying the possibility of installing renewable energy systems
  • Advancing in the establishment of centralised heating systemsÌý
  • Establishing collaborations with the relevant administrations

To promote sustainable mobility, the Â鶹¹û¶³ carried out the installation of electric vehicle charging stations on the campuses of Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo.

These actions are part of the 2025 subsidies for electric mobility (MOVES III Programme in Galicia) – IN421Q, IN421R.

The Â鶹¹û¶³ has carried out various projects subsidised by incentive programmes 4 and 5 of RD 477/2021, related to self-consumption and storage in the residential sector, with public administrations and with the third sector within the framework of the European Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (IN422J and IN422K).

The eligible cost of the operation amounts to €863,806.90 and is financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

The Â鶹¹û¶³ carried out various projects within the aid line for low-carbon economy projects, in electricity generation facilities using renewable energy sources, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed by the IDAE, aimed at achieving a cleaner and more sustainable economy.Ìý

The total investment amounts to €338,232.41 and the total amount of aid is €260,634.20.

With the aim of promoting sustainable mobility, the Â鶹¹û¶³ carried out work to install electric vehicle charging stations on the Ourense and Pontevedra campuses.Ìý

These actions are part of the 2020 State Programme of Incentives for Efficient and Sustainable Mobility (MOVES II Programme), co-financed by the European Union within the Galicia 2014-2020 ERDF Operational Programme.

As an example of this commitment, in 2020 the Â鶹¹û¶³ carried out various renewable thermal energy projects and comprehensive energy saving and efficiency projects on the Vigo campus. These actions were financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Feder Galicia 2014/2020 operational programme.

In 2019, the Â鶹¹û¶³ installed six solar photovoltaic systems for self-consumption on its campuses in Vigo, Ourense and Pontevedra. These actions were financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Feder Galicia 2014/2020 operational programme.
