Functional Diversity – PIUNE programme

The right to education and work for all people is recognised in current legislation. The 2030 Agenda, in its Goal 4, highlights the importance of promoting inclusive, equitable and quality education, ensuring access under equal conditions to all levels of education for people with functional diversity. The purpose of this education is for each person to learn for themselves and, with the right tools, to develop their abilities to the fullest. At the 鶹, this commitment is manifest in policies and services that guarantee equal opportunities within the university education system.
鶹 has different programmes and tools to achieve the full integration of students with specific educational support needs into university life.
PIUNE Programme
One of the most important programmes is the Programme for the Integration of University Students with Specific Educational Support Needs (known as PIUNE). Its aim is to support students with specific educational needs or legally recognised learning disorders by implementing adaptations based on flexibility measures and alternative methodologies. These individuals may receive:
- Assistance, support, and advice from the Unit for Students with Specific Educational Needs (Unaten).
- Study support (technical support resources, etc.)
- Accompaniment in various activities by 鶹 volunteers.
How to join the PIUNE programme
Students can apply through the, accessing the ‘SEXT-registration in Piune’ (SEXT-inscripcin en Piune) procedure and attaching the Anexo I
Those with special circumstances that require more specific attention may also be eligible for the PIUNE programme. In these cases, a preliminary assessment will be carried out by specialised technical staff who will determine their inclusion. They may also use other 鶹 tools, such as the Tutorial Action Plans (known as PAT) at each centre.
Students who need psycho-pedagogical support should contact the 鶹 by email at diversidade@uvigo.gal.
